A year ago, we decided to pack our office on Rothschild 32 and move for one year to WeWork’s then recently opened office in Sarona. We wanted to experience the WE movement and be active members of our portfolio company. Our team was looking forward to the free beer and frequent collisions but what we got was so much more.

Sure, the office space was a bit smaller. However, as our team expanded over the year when we added another partner, a head of platform and a community hacker, we still never felt it was too crowded.

The WeWork team, from community managers to cleaners, was consistently helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too complicated or impossible. They did everything they could do to make our experience superb (it turns out, a good pizza can solve any crisis). At times, it felt like they were part of the Aleph team. That said, what made the experience so powerful was the sense of community one feels when entering any Wework office. WeWork ensures that there is never a dull moment. The daily events, volunteer opportunities, Yoga classes, weekly happy-hours, and memorable parties, provide you with so many opportunities to learn, experience, connect and make new friends.

Now that the year has passed (16 months to be exact — but who’s counting) and our old office has a new look and a second floor, we are returning to Rothschild with mixed feelings. Although we will miss the commotion, the startup atmosphere, the awesome WeWork team and the serendipitous meetings that turned into great friendships and opportunities, we’re happy to have our own spacious office with a coffee bar, a large event space, extra meeting rooms for hosting entrepreneurs and the best view in town.

Going back to Rothschild, we would like to maintain the sense of community we absorbed at WeWork. We will host our different events and workshops including Aleph.bet, Casual Aleph our Movie nights and the recent Aliya initiative, at our office and Karma members can use their Karma benefits to book a meeting room when in need.

We are hereby announcing an open-house policy; If you are in the neighborhood, drop us a note & stop by to say hello, introduce yourself and grab something to drink. If you need an event space for a meetup, or if you have an interesting initiative, you’d like us to be involved with, don’t hesitate to drop me (Avigail) a note (a@aleph.vc).

Thank you WeWork for teaching us what community really means.

Hello Rothschild, it’s good to be back.
