The IPO Boom is Over. What Should Your Startup Do Instead?
"An IPO is the golden standard for tech companies," says Yael Elad, Operating Partner and CFO at Aleph in this Partner Perspective. "After the boom of 2021, the IPO market slowed down...and continued to be soft in 2022 and 2023 despite the expectations of 'the market' for an uplift."
So what should your startup do instead? Yael makes the case for considering an M&A. Large mergers or acquisitions are actually a lot less common than you'd expect, while smaller deals like acqui-hires or merging two venture-backed companies who want to join together around a common need (e.g. access to a client pool or a new revenue stream) are a more viable option.
Watch the video for Yael's insights into why you may want to pursue this kind of M&A deal, what the benefits are, and how to prepare your company for a successful outcome.
